After helping lead Ohio State to a pair of crucial road wins over Illinois and Maryland, respectively, Ohio State point guard Jaloni Cambridge and forward Kylee Kitts each received honors on Monday.
Cambridge earned Naismith National Player of the week honors on Monday and was named the Big Ten Player of the Week, while Kitts was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
The recognition for Cambridge comes after arguably the best week of her collegiate career. In Ohio State’s two wins, she averaged 34.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists. Although Cambridge played extremely well in both of Ohio State’s wins, she had her best performance against Illinois. In the win over the Fighting Illini, Cambridge scored a career-high total of 41 points and also tallied six rebounds and six assists.
Kitts, a redshirt-freshman who transferred in from Florida over the offseason, also boasted impressive stats. She averaged 14 points and 6.5 rebounds.
Kitts played her best in the Buckeyes’ upset win over the then- No. 18 Terrapins. She tied a career-high total of 18 points and also grabbed eight rebounds.
