Only two days after suffering a loss on the recruiting trail when Avon (Ohio) four-star safety Jakob Weatherspoon (5-10, 175) flipped to North Carolina, Ohio State bounced back on Friday by gaining the commitment of Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop four-star wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford (6-2, 190).

Guiflord, who was also considering Indiana, Michigan and Ole Miss, is now Ohio State’s 21st pledge in the 2026 class. Guilford is the No. 315 player, No. 50 wide receiver and the No. 1 player out of the state of Indiana, according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings.

The four-star receiver joins a strong Buckeye receiver room that consists of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star Chris Henry Jr. (6-5, 205), Henry’s high-school teammate and four-star Kayden Dixon Wyatt (6-2, 180), Pataskala (Ohio) Watkins Memorial four-star Jaeden Ricketts (6-0, 187) and Southlake (Texas) Carrol four-star Brock Boyd (6-1, 180).
