Defensive line coach Larry Johnson missed on getting his fifth commitment of the 2026 class on Saturday when four-star defensive lineman Deuce Geralds pledged his serviced to LSU. He chose the Tigers over Michigan, Ole Miss and Oregon and Ohio State.
Geralds would have joined four-star edge rusher Khary Wilder, four-star defensive lineman Damari Simeon, and three-star defensive tackles Cameron Brickle and Jamir Perez in the Buckeyes’ class on the defensive line, but will instead head to Baton Rouge.
Geralds is ranked the No. 95 player in the country, the No. 12 defensive lineman and the No.11 player in the state of Georgia.
The Buckeyes still hope to land four-star defensive lineman Emanuel Ruffin in the 2026 class, and they could be targeting some on the line who have already committed elsewhere that they believe might want to flip to Ohio State.
