Defensive line coach Larry Johnson got his second commitment in the month of June on Friday when four-star defensive lineman Damari Simeon pledged his services to the Buckeyes.
Simeon chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, Penn State and Texas after taking official visits to each of those schools. Ohio State got the last word in with those visits the weekend of June 20, when seven commits were also on campus for their official visits.
He first received his offer from the Buckeyes on Feb. 5, but even though they might have been a bit late to his recruitment, Johnson and Co. were obviously able to make enough of an impression in the few months since.
Simeon is the No. 201 player in the country, the No. 26 defensive lineman and the No. 3 player in the state of New Jersey according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Ohio State is still hoping to add to the defensive line in the 2026 class, with four-stars Deuce Geralds, KJ Ford, Landon Barnes, PJ Dean, Carter Meadows, Emanuel Ruffin, Jake Kreul and Cameron Brickle still uncommitted after taking official visits to Columbus.
