Ohio State added a second cornerback to its 2026 class when four-star Jay Timmons pledged his services to the Buckeyes on Thursday.
Timmons’ commitment comes just five days after he was on campus for the 38-14 win over Penn State, flipping from Florida State, where he had been committed since June 24.
He joins four-star cornerback Jordan Thomas, who has been committed to the Buckeyes since May 12. OSU also has five-star safety Blaine Bradford and four-star safety Simeon Caldwell in the class.
Timmons, out of Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pa., is the No. 136 player in the country, the No. 17 cornerback and the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania. His father, Lawrence, played at Florida State and went on to play 11 seasons at the NFL level, 10 for the Pittsburgh Steelers and one for the Miami Dolphins.
In the 2024 season, Timmons helped his team to a WIPAL 5A championship, finishing with 42 tackles, 10 passes broken up, four interceptions and three forced fumbles. He also caught 40 passes for 755 yards and eight touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball as well.
