Former Ohio State wrestler Kyle Snyder was reportedly arrested as part of a prostitution sting, according to a Monday report by 10TV that was confirmed by the Columbus Division of Police.

The 10TV report states that Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert said the Police and Community Together (PACT) division was conducting an undercover operation on the north side of the city on May 9 aimed at reducing prostitution.

The officers received text messages and phone calls beginning around 8:15 p.m. from a man — who was later identified as Snyder — responding to one of their ads.

A meeting was arranged at a hotel and Snyder paid an undercover officer in cash and requested a sexual act before being arrested for engaging in prostitution by uniformed officers inside the hotel room. He was later released from custody at the scene, according to the report.

Snyder has since been summoned to appear in court on May 19.

Snyder was a three-time NCAA champion at Ohio State and won three World Championships and an Olympic gold medal, becoming the youngest wrestler to take home gold at the Olympics in 2016 at the Rio de Janiero games.
