Former Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles had a spectacular showing at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday. The former All-American had a wildly impressive 40-yard dash time of 4.46 seconds, and posted a vertical jump of 43.5 inches, the second-best vertical jump of any linebacker ever, only trailing Cameron Wake, who had a vertical jump of 45.5 inches.
Styles, who weighed in at 6-5, 244 pounds, had a broad jump of 11-foot-2 inches, the fourth-best among linebackers ever at the combine.
Styles’ broad jump, vertical jump and 40-yard dash were the best among this year’s linebackers at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Heading into the NFL Scouting Combine, Styles was predicted by many to be selected high in the first-round of the NFL draft, and following his incredible display of athleticism, he could hear his name called even earlier than some experts previously expected.
Trevor Sikkema, the lead draft analyst for Pro Football Focus, foresees Styles being selected very early in the 2026 NFL Draft.
“This morning Sonny Styles’ draft range started at No. 5,” Sikkema wrote in a tweet posted on Thursday after Styles’ NFL Scouting Combine performance. “Now 5 feels like it could be his floor.”
