Former Ohio State Golfer Neal Shipley Promoted To PGA Tour

A new Buckeye is teeing it up on golf’s biggest stage. 

Korn Ferry Tour golfer and Ohio State alum Neal Shipley has secured his PGA Tour card, the Korn Ferry Tour announced Wednesday.

Shipley is the third member of the Korn Ferry Tour to receive a promotion to the PGA Tour for 2026, joining Johnny Keefer and Austin Smotherman. Each of the three will be considered PGA tour rookies in 2026. 

In 2025, Shipley has notched two Korn Ferry Tour wins, while also maintaining a streak of five-straight top-10 placements. 

The Pittsburgh, Pa., product most recently finished tied for eighth at the Pinnacle Bank Championship in Omaha, Neb.

With a third victory in 2025, Shipley would earn immediate elevation to the PGA Tour for the rest of the 2025 calendar year via Korn Ferry Tour’s three-victory promotion.

In 2024 at Ohio State, Shipley earned unanimous All-Big Ten first team honors and was named to the PING Midwest All-Region team as one of the top collegiate golfers in the area.

Closing out his final season at Ohio State, Shipley claimed low amateur honors at the 2024 Masters, then repeated the feat that June at the U.S. Open after graduating.
