Former Ohio State walk-on long snapper Michael Roen McCullough was arrested by police and charged with a felony count of strangulation Sunday, according to documents filed in the Franklin County Municipal Court.
Tuesday, Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Eileen Paley set McCullough’s bond at $50,000 and approved a protection order requiring him to stay away from the woman who made the allegations.
According to court documents, police first responded to a call at 9 p.m. on Sunday regarding reports of a domestic violence incident in the 100 block of Marconi Boulevard.
McCullough’s girlfriend reported that the altercation had occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, the day before the call was made. She told officers that after she and McCullough in an argument in their vehicle, McCullough punched her in the face multiple times, broke her phone and grabbed her by the throat while pushing her against the car window.
His girlfriend also told police she had no memory of the drive after the incident and regained consciousness after arriving home, court records stated. Officers noted she had a black eye, swollen lip and a bruise on the front of her throat.
McCullough was a member of the Buckeyes from 2018-20.
