After two seasons at Ohio State, defensive tackle Eric Mensah is transferring to Virginia Tech, he announced via his Twitter account.
The 6-2, 302-pound defensive tackle saw limited in-game action during his two years in Columbus, playing in just three games as a freshman before ultimately redshirting. Mensah recorded two tackles against Grambling State in his lone appearance in 2025.
Originally listed as a three-star prospect out of Stafford (Va.) Mountain View, Mensah was ranked as the No. 800 overall recruit and the No. 90 defensive tackle.
Mensah initially committed to Virginia Tech on July 17, 2023, before an official visit to Ohio State on Sept. 9 swayed the defensive tackle to decommit from the Hokies and commit to the Buckeyes on the same day, just six days later.
Mensah follows former Penn State head coach James Franklin to Blacksburg, Va., and is now the 18th incoming transfer to join the Hokies.
