Former Ohio State defensive lineman Jarquez Carter has transferred to Miami (Fla.) after one season with the Buckeyes, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Hayes Fawcett.
A product of Newberry, Fla., Carter was ranked as the No. 198 overall recruit, the No. 18 defensive tackle and the 31st-ranked player in the state of Florida in the class of 2024.
Carter played in seven games as a freshman at Ohio State, racking up two tackles in 51 snaps of action.
Carter’s transfer to Miami comes just under two weeks after Ohio State fell to the Hurricanes 24-14 in their Cotton Bowl quarterfinal matchup Dec. 31.
The 6-1, 288-pound defensive lineman will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at Miami.
