Eddrick Houston Says He Will Be Ready To Go For Week 1

Just two weeks ago on the first day of fall camp, defensive tackle Eddrick Houston went down with a leg injury in practice.

Thursday, Houston told reporters that he would be ready to return for No. 3 Ohio State’s matchup with No. 1 Texas on Aug. 30.

“I feel good. I’ll be ready Week 1,” Houston said.

Houston suffered the injury during the final team period rotation of practice. He had to be helped off the field and didn’t put any weight on his leg as he went to the sideline.

“I took the wrong step. Messed it up, and went back in there, got it healed out, rehabbed up, and then back out here,” Houston said.

Houston declined to talk about any specifics of his injury.

The Atlanta native described the injury as merely a small bump in the road, sharing his excitement for the chance to face the Longhorns in the season opener.

“It was a minor setback,” he said, “but it feels great to be back on the field and being able to contribute and build these calluses for Week 1.”
