Update: Pete Thamel of ESPN reported at 6:56 p.m. on Thursday that Eddrick Houston’s injury “does not look like a long-term injury” and is not considered serious.

At Ohio State’s first practice of fall camp, sophomore defensive tackle Eddrick Houston limped off the field with an apparent leg injury.

He limped off the field with help, not putting much weight on his right leg, and head coach Ryan Day didn’t have an update on his status.

“I haven’t talked to the trainers. We’ll go from there once we talk to them,” Day said.

Houston was expected to slot into a starting spot on the interior defensive line, a spot where depth could be somewhat of a concern for the Buckeyes. Depending on the status of Houston and whether he will be available for Ohio State, players who could replace him are Will Smith, Tywone Malone and Jason Moore.
