By December 3, 2025 (8:28 am)Early Signing Period, Recruiting

Get to know Mentor, Ohio, three-star offensive tackle Landry Brede, who signed with Ohio State on Wednesday.

Height, Weight: 6-5, 280

247Sports Composite Ranking: Brede is the No. 858 player in the country, the No. 77 offensive tackle and the No. 43 player in Ohio.

Commitment Date: Brede committed to Ohio State on Oct. 13, 2025.

Other Offers: Arkansas, Boston College, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Maryland, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Missouri, NC State, North Carolina, Northwestern, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Toledo, UCF, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Western Kentucky, Western Michigan

How He Did In High School: Brede led the Cardinals to winning records in all four of his seasons on varsity. The offensive tackle helped Mentor to dominant 12-0 seasons in both his junior and senior seasons, however the Cardinals fell to St. Edward in the Division 1 Region 1 Championships to cap off each of those years.

Where He Fits In 2026: It will be difficult for Brede to get on the field as a freshman, as only one Ohio State lineman, backup guard/tackle Ethan Onianwa, will exhaust their eligibility after this season. Unless he can get in on special teams, a redshirt is likely for Brede.
