
Carmen’s Crew advanced past the round of 32 in The Basketball Tournament on Monday with a 73-69 win over the Fort Wayne Champs.
With a target score of 73 points to win the game, Desonta Bradford hit the game-winning shot for Carmen’s Crew to keep the defending champions in the tournament.
After the win, they will now play in the Indianapolis Regional Final on Tuesday at 8 p.m. against the No. 7 seed in the region, Fail Harder. Former Buckeye CJ Walker is an assistant coach for the Fail Harder squad.
Carmen’s Crew was led in scoring by Jamel Morris, who had 20 points on 7-of-18 shooting, making 6 of 14 three pointers and bringing down four rebounds with two assists. Former Ohio State guard Keyshawn Woods had 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, three steals and two assists. Fort Wayne’s leading scorer, Jitaurious Gordon had 16 points.
Kaleb Wesson, Trevor Thompson and William Buford, the other three former Buckeyes who play for Carmen’s Crew, didn’t get any playing time in the win over Fort Wayne.
