Availability Report: Jeremiah Smith, Carnell Tate Questionable For Michigan Game

By November 29, 2025 (10:00 am)Football

Ohio State’s two star wide receivers are listed as questionable on the injury report going into the rivalry game against Michigan on Saturday.

Throughout the week, head coach Ryan Day said that everyone was participating in practice and both have been working hard to get back on the field.

Tate has been out since the Purdue contest when he wasn’t listed on the injury report before the game but was held out after he felt something in pregame warmups. He hasn’t played since the Penn State game on Nov. 1.

Smith played in the first half of the UCLA win on Nov. 15, but was held out of the second half and was seen limping off the field after the game. He didn’t play last week in the win over Rutgers.

However, Smith appeared on Caleb Downs’ podcast “Downs 2 Business” and said he should be ready to go for the matchup against the No. 15 Wolverines.

Nickel back Lorenzo Styles Jr. is not listed on the availability report after going down with an injury against the Scarlet Knights, so he could be back into the starting lineup if he’s good to go.

If Styles is limited in any capacity, the Buckeyes have multiple options to replace him. Last week, it was Bryce West who came in and played the nickel position When Styles was out with an injury earlier in the year, Jermaine Mathews Jr. slid to the slot while freshman Devin Sanchez played outside corner.

If Smith and Tate don’t play, it will likely be a combination of Bryson Rodgers, David Adolph and Mylan Graham in the lineup, although Graham didn’t see a lot of playing time on Nov. 22 despite the absence of Smith and Tate.
