Recruiting Outlook: Ohio State Makes Cut For Domani Jackson, Commit Evan Pryor Makes Progress With High School

• Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s five-star quarterback Kyle McCord ended up as a top performer in the Elite 11 Finals, earning a spot in the top 11. Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga five-star quarterback Caleb Williams, who committed to Oklahoma later in the week, was named Elite 11 MVP.
• Ohio State four-star running back Evan Pryor recently said a meeting with the administration at Cornelius (N.C.) William Amos Hough High was “encouraging.” He previously announced he would sit out his senior season if changes weren’t made amid a series of recent messages and videos were posted online by a student at his school.
• Cincinnati La Salle four-star running back Gi’Bran Payne left Ohio State off of his top 10 schools list. Payne, the No. 24 running back and No. 206 prospect overall in 2022, has not yet received an offer from the Buckeyes, and could still consider Ohio State if that offer comes in the future. Payne said in his tweet that his “recruitment is still 100 percent open.”
• Strongsville, Ohio 2022 three-star offensive tackle Blake Miller can squat 540 pounds. He has three Crystal Ball projections to Ohio State.
• Former Ohio State linebacker Pepper Johnson was hired to be the new defensive coordinator at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, where he will coach Buckeyes four-star defensive end commit Tunmise Adeleye.
• Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove four-star defensive tackle Caden Curry, an Ohio State target who the Buckeyes offered on May 6, received another offer on July 7, this time from Michigan. Curry is ranked as the fourth-best defensive tackle and No. 134 overall in the 2022 class.
• Dallas (Ga.) Pauling County five-star linebacker Smael Mondon, the No. 26 overall prospect and second-best outside linebacker in the 2021 class, did not include Ohio State in his top five schools despite the Buckeyes offering him. Mondon has eight crystal ball predictions, all of which are for Georgia.
• 2022 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star cornerback Domani Jackson included Ohio State in his top 10 on July 4, listing the Buckeyes alongside Alabama, Arizona State, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and USC.
