Top Transfer Defensive End And Ohio State Target Chaz Coleman Commits To Tennessee Over Buckeyes

Former Penn State defensive end Chaz Coleman committed to Tennessee on Saturday, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Coleman, ranked as the No. 1 defensive end and the No. 5 overall player in the transfer portal by 247Sports, opted for Tennessee over Ohio State despite receiving a Crystal Ball prediction to the Buckeyes from On3’s Alex Gleitman on Jan. 1.
Coming out of Harding High School in Warren, Ohio, Coleman was ranked as the No. 293 player nationally, the No. 31 defensive end and the No. 9 player in the state of Ohio, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
In his lone season with the Nittany Lions, the 6-4, 246-pound edge rusher totaled eight tackles, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, a sack and a broken up pass in just five games of action.
Coleman serves as a significant boost to Tennessee’s transfer portal haul, joining fellow Penn State defensive lineman Xavier Gilliam, the class’s No. 37 overall prospect and the No. 10-ranked defensive lineman.
With the addition of Coleman, Tennessee has now brought in seven transfers and boasts the 13th overall transfer class.
