Sherrone Moore Reportedly Jailed Following Dismissal From Michigan

Former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore was detained by police in Saline, Mich. and later turned into the police at Pittsfield Township where he was arrested and booked Wednesday night for investigation into potential charges, according to Pete Thamel and Dan Wetzel of ESPN.

According to a statement from the Pittsfield Township Police Department, officers originally responded to a 4:10 p.m. call regarding an assault allegation on the 3000 block of Ann Arbor-Saline. Moore’s name wasn’t released at the time as police told reporters a suspect had been taken into custody.

Moore was booked at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night in the Washtenaw County Jail, with no charges announced, according to online court records.

Moore’s arrest comes just hours after he was fired from Michigan with cause for an inappropriate relationship with a Wolverines staff member.
