Report: Five More Buckeyes Entering Transfer Portal

Ohio State running back James Peoples, wide receiver Damarion Witten, kicker Jackson Courville as well as defensive ends Logan George and Dominic Kirks have entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

Peoples is expected to enter the transfer portal after two seasons with the Buckeyes. He spent the 2024 season as Ohio State’s third-string running back behind TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, before sliding to the fourth unit as Bo Jackson, CJ Donaldson and Isaiah West emerged late in the year.

The San Antonio, Texas native, Peoples totaled 110 touches for 541 yards in his two years at Ohio State, including 61 carries for 344 yards and three touchdowns in 2025.

Witten entered the transfer portal following his sophomore campaign at Ohio State. Though the 6-3, 206-pound Witten was initially recruited as a tight end, he transitioned to wide receiver with the Buckeyes, but saw the field for just one in-game snap during the 2024 season.

A product of Cleveland Glenville High School, Witten was ranked as the No. 467 overall prospect in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports composite rankings. His teammate at Glenville and Ohio State, cornerback Bryce West, entered the portal Thursday afternoon.

Courville spent just one season with the Buckeyes after transferring from Ball State in the offseason. He didn’t kick any field goals in his lone year at Ohio State backing up Jayden Fielding, but was a perfect 4-for-4 on extra point tries.

In his two seasons at Ball State, Courville was 26-of-34 on field goal attempts. He will now have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

George enters the transfer portal after one injury-riddled season with Ohio State. After an impressive two seasons at Idaho State, including a 2024 campaign where he amassed 56 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks, George played in just two games and 19 total defensive snaps with the Buckeyes, racking up only two tackles.

Kirks leaves Ohio State after his redshirt freshman campaign with the program. He played in three games in each of his two seasons with the Buckeyes, tallying two tackles. The 6-4, 267-pound defensive end took the field for only 17 snaps in his second year at Ohio State.

A product of Cleveland Riverside High School, Kirks was ranked as the No. 163 overall prospect in the class of 2024.
