Report: Alabama To Keep Home And Home Series With Ohio State

The home-and-home series between Ohio State and Alabama is still set to take place, according to a report from On3’s Brett McMurphy.
The report comes shortly after sources told On3 that Alabama was cancelling its series with Oklahoma State, which was set to take place in 2028 and 2029.
The series between the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide is set to take place during the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The first matchup between the two teams will be played in Columbus, and then the Buckeyes will make a return trip to Tuscaloosa in 2028.
In two years as the program’s head coach, Kalen DeBoer has failed to replicate the success enjoyed by legendary coach Nick Saban, but his program took a step forward last year. After an ugly season-opening loss to Florida State, Alabama won 10 regular-season games, reached the SEC title game, and won one College Football Playoff game before being eliminated by eventual national champion Indiana in the Rose Bowl.
Ohio State and Alabama last met on the gridiron for the 2021 national championship. The Crimson Tide won that game 52-24. The Buckeyes had their own triumph over the Crimson Tide in the postseason on New Year’s Day in 2015. On that day, Ohio State defeated Alabama 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl and subsequently defeated Oregon in the national championship.
