Recruiting Outlook: Ohio State Issues Flurry Of Offers In 2023 And Beyond

With the class of 2022 mostly in the rear-view, Ohio State has started laying out offers to a number of upcoming prospects.

Since Jan. 17, the Buckeyes have issued 10 offers to prospects in 2023, seven offers to prospects in 2024, and one offer to a prospect in 2025.

In 2023:

  • Ohio State offered Fayetteville (Ga.) Whitewater four-star linebacker Raul Aguirre (6-2, 220) on Jan. 20. He’s rated as the No. 120 overall prospect in 2023 and the No. 8 linebacker. He holds additional offers from Georgia, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Oregon and Tennessee, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Many (La.) four-star linebacker Tackett Curtis (6-2, 218) on Jan. 18. He’s rated as the No. 64 overall prospect and the fifth-best linebacker in 2023. He holds offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas A&M, among others.

  • Ohio State offered Phenix City (Ala.) Central four-star defensive lineman Tomarrion Parker on Jan. 21. He’s rated as the No. 89 overall prospect in his class and the No. 14 defensive lineman. He holds additional offers from Alabama, Georiga, Michigan, Penn State and Tennessee, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Saint Louis (Mo.) IMG Academy five-star athlete Samuel M’Pemba (6-4, 230) on Jan. 19. He’s rated as the No. 15 overall prospect in 2023 and the No. 1 athlete, though M’Pemba has played at wide receiver and defensive end for IMG Academy. He holds additional offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas and Texas A&M, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Houston (Texas) Langham Creek four-star wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway (5-11, 170) on Jan. 20. He’s rated as the No. 42 overall prospect in 2023 and the No. 8 wide receiver. He holds additional offers from Alabama, Florida, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas and Texas A&M, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Columbus (Ga.) Carver four-star defensive lineman Darron Reed (6-5, 260) on Jan. 21. He’s rated as the No. 286 overall prospect in 2023 and the No. 45 defensive lineman. He holds additional offers from Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Tennessee and USC, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Rolesville (N.C.) four-star wide receiver Noah Rogers (6-1, 180) on Jan. 12. He’s rated as the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 10 wide receiver in 2023. He holds offers from Clemson, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State and NC State, of which there is one crystal ball prediction for Rogers to the Wolfpack.

  • Ohio State offered Columbus (Ga.) Carver four-star offensive tackle Kelton Smith Jr. (6-5, 300) on Jan. 21. He’s rated as the No. 221 overall prospect in his class and the No. 11 interior lineman. He holds additional offers from Georiga, Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Ole Miss and Oregon, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Houston (Texas) Dekaney four-star wide receiver Jonah Wilson (6-1, 195) on Jan. 20. He’s rated as the No. 228 overall prospect in 2023 and the No. 28 wide receiver. He holds additional offers from Baylor, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Texas A&M, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Upper Marlboro (Md.) Charles Herbert Flowers four-star defensive end Desmond Umeozulu (6-5, 220) on Jan. 19. He’s rated as the No. 307 overall prospect in 2023 and the No. 25 defensive end. He holds additional offers from Kentucky, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Ole Miss, among others.

In 2024:

  • Ohio State offered Roswell (Ga.) Centennial four-star offensive tackle Daniel Calhoun on Jan. 20. He’s rated by 247Sports as the No. 74 overall prospect in 2024 and the No. 2 tackle. He has additional offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

  • Ohio State offered Atlanta Woodward Academy linebacker Myles Graham on Jan. 20. He has not been assigned a rating yet from 247Sports, but he holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Temple (Texas) Lake Belton wide receiver Micah Hudson (6-0, 186) on Jan. 18. 247Sports rates him as the No. 63 overall prospect in 2024 and the No. 13 wide receiver in his class, though he does not yet hold a composite rating. He holds additional offers from Baylor, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Texas, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Buford (Ga.) four-star defensive end Eddrick Houston (6-3, 210) on Jan. 20. He’s rated as the No. 82 overall prospect in his class and the No. 5 defensive end. He holds additional offers from Alabama, Georiga, Kentucky, Michigan State and Ole Miss, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Melissa (Texas) four-star defensive lineman Nigel Smith II (6-4, 245) on Jan. 21. He’s rated as the No. 19 overall prospect in his class and the No. 2 defensive lineman. He holds additional offers from LSU, Notre Dame and Ole Miss, among others.

  • Ohio State offered Washington D.C. Friendship Collegiate Academy defensive lineman Dylan Stewart (6-4, 220) on Jan. 20. He has not been assigned a rating from 247Sports, but he holds offers from Boston College, Maryland, NC State and Penn State, among others.
  • Ohio State offered Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star tight end Landen Thomas (6-4, 210), one of the top tight ends in 2024, on Jan. 13. 247Sports rates him as the No. 1 tight end and the No. 18 overall prospect in his class. He holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Penn State, Tennessee and Texas A&M, among others.

In 2025:

  • Ohio State offered Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard defensive lineman Armondo Blount (6-3, 230) on Jan. 19. A member of the class of 2025, Blount holds offers from Florida State, Iowa State and Miami (Fla.).
