Rebeka Mikulášiková Dealing With High Ankle Sprain

Ohio State forward Rebeka Mikulášiková is dealing with what is believed to be a high ankle sprain suffered in the Buckeyes’ win over Minnesota on Wednesday.

Mikulášiková was injured while trying to corral a rebound midway through the first quarter. She remained on the court briefly before being helped up, and was assisted to the locker room while not putting any weight on her left leg.

“As far as I know, a high ankle sprain,” Ohio State head coach Kevin McGuff said after the game. “She was in a little bit of pain, discomfort. We’ll assess it tonight and tomorrow and see where we’re at.”

In Mikulášiková’s absence, forward Eboni Walker played a season-high 26 minutes, finishing with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting in addition to dishing out six assists.

“I thought she did a great job stepping up,” McGuff said. “We just did our “Dub Chain” in there and we gave it to her because we really need her to step up with Rebeka’s absence. I thought her energy was really good. (Minnesota) has really good post players that made her work for everything she got.”
