Ohio State’s Chris Domke Named Big Ten Pitcher Of The Week

After a dominant outing against Michigan, Ohio State’s Chris Domke earned the final Big Ten Pitcher of the Week award of the 2026 regular season.
Domke pitched the first 9.0-inning complete game for the Buckeyes since 2021. The junior right-hander allowed just one run on three hits, struck out six batters, and gave up just one walk as he helped Ohio State to an 8-1 victory over the rival Wolverines and earned the Buckeyes their first sweep over Michigan in Ann Arbor since 1994.
It marked Domke’s second complete game of the season, giving him two of Ohio State’s three complete games in 2026.
Coming off Tommy John surgery that sidelined him in 2025, the former Youngstown State transfer has been impressive in his first season on the mound at Ohio State.
Domke has posted a 6-6 record with a 5.55 ERA this season. In 73.0 innings, he has recorded 59 strikeouts to just 21 walks while holding opponents to a .269 batting average.
Domke is the third Buckeye to claim weekly Big Ten honors this season, joining left fielder Alex Bemis on March 23 and catcher Mason Eckelman on May 4.
No. 6 Ohio State will return to the diamond Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET, when the Buckeyes take on No. 11 Washington in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament.
