Ohio State Tight End Will Kacmarek Sheds Black Stripe
Ohio State tight end Will Kacmarek shed his black stripe on Friday, becoming the latest of the new Buckeyes to do so.
He is the seventh Ohio State player to lose his black stripe this spring, and the fifth transfer, following Jeremiah Smith, Brennen Schramm, Caleb Downs, Quinshon Judkins, Will Howard and Seth McLaughlin.
When Kacmarek talked with the media for the first time on Jan. 30, he said he was very excited to be at Ohio State after spending three seasons down the road in Athens, Ohio, with Ohio. With the Bobcats he had 42 catches for 507 yards and two touchdowns.
โItโs a dream come true,โ Kacmarek said. โEver since Iโve been young itโs been a dream to play at the highest level. Iโm here now and itโs really exciting. Iโm pumped for this opportunity.โ
Heโs hoping that he can not only be on the roster with the Buckeyes, but also contribute in the 2024 season, which he just took the first step to doing.
โNothing is given free,โ he said. โI have to work for every minute of playing time. Thatโs my goal. Thatโs why Iโm here, and I hope I can make that happen.โ
