Ohio State Spring Game Set For April 11
Ohio State announced on Thursday it will hold its annual spring game at Ohio Stadium on April 11.
Already in the midst of winter workouts, the Buckeyes are scheduled to begin spring practices the week of March 2. Players will be on spring break the week of March 9-13 but will return to Columbus to complete a total of 15 practices, culminating with the scrimmage in mid-April.
The news came as part of a press release introducing Ohio State’s 14 early enrollees, by far the largest group of early enrollees in program history, surpassing the nine in 2017 and 2018. The Buckeyes also have a 15th newcomer, as tight end Corey Rau has joined the program as a walk-on graduate transfer from SMU.
Ohio State holds the national record for spring game attendance, welcoming 100,189 fans to Ohio Stadium in 2016. The Buckeyes also rank No. 2 with 99,391 fans on hand for the 2015 scrimmage. Only 61,102 fans attended last year’s spring game, however.
