Ohio State Remains No. 1 In AP Top 25 After 34-16 Win Over Illinois

Ohio State is still the No. 1 team in the country after its 34-16 win over No. 17 Illinois on Oct. 11. The Fighting Illini fell out of the rankings.
The Buckeyes received 50 first-place votes followed by No. 2 Miami (Fla.) getting 13 first-place votes and Indiana receiving three. The Hoosiers are up to the No. 3 spot after taking down Oregon in Autzen Stadium, 30-20, a program defining win for second-year head coach Curt Cignetti. The Hoosiers moved up from No. 7 while the Ducks fell five spots to No. 8.
No. 4 Texas A&M traded places with No. 5 Ole Miss while Alabama and Texas Tech both jumped two spots to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.
No. 9 Georgia and No. 10 LSU finish out the top-10 teams in the Week 8 rankings.
Other Big Ten teams in the top 25 are No. 20 USC after it beat Michigan to knock the Wolverines out of the rankings, which helped No. 25 Nebraska make its first appearance in the top 25 this season.
No. 19 USF made the biggest jump in the poll, moving up five spots while No. 14 Oklahoma dropped eight spots after losing the Red River Rivalry to now-No. 21 Texas.
