Ohio State Releases Urban Meyer-Zach Smith Investigation Records

Ohio State responded to a variety of open-records requests filed by various media outlets a year ago, releasing hundreds of pages of emails, text messages and other documents Friday afternoon.

These messages and documents are related to the situation that led to Zach Smith’s firing and three-game suspensions for Urban Meyer and Gene Smith last fall.

Zach Smith alleged to have committed domestic violence against his fiancée, but he was never charged with crimes directly related to those abuse allegations.

Meyer and Gene Smith were found to have mismanaged Zach Smith’s tenure as an assistant coach and were penalized for their mishaps.

Ohio State hired an outside firm to investigate the football program last August.

This August, the university decided to release the relevant documents related to Zach Smith’s employment and how everything transpired last year.

Buckeye Sports Bulletin will file through the documents as they are released and provide updates of anything of importance.

We will add more when we break down the findings.
