Ohio State Quarterback Julian Sayin, Running Back Bo Jackson Earn Freshman All-American Honors

For outstanding debut seasons in 2025, Ohio State redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Sayin and true freshman running back Bo Jackson each earned Freshman All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America on Wednesday.

Not only was Sayin one of the best freshman quarterbacks in the country last year, but he was one of the best players in the country. On the way to being a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, Sayin threw for 3,610 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also finished the season, completing 77.0 percent of his passes, the best mark in the country.

Sayin overcame an early interception to help lead Ohio State to its first win over Michigan since 2019. In the regular season finale, Sayin threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns, while completing 19 of 26 passes.

Jackson had a similarly impressive performance against the Wolverines, running for 117 yards on 22 carries.

For the season, Jackson carried the ball 179 times to pick up 1,090 yards and six touchdowns. Like Sayin, Jackson also earned All-Big Ten second-team honors.
