Ohio State-Michigan State Availability Report Delayed Until Saturday Morning
Ohio State will not release an availability report for its game against Michigan State until approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday, just two hours before the Buckeyes and Spartans are scheduled to kick off their game on ABC.
The report, which lists the players who are injured or otherwise unavailable for the game, is typically sent out on Friday morning. But with a number of players out after testing positive for coronavirus last week, Ohio State is holding off on making the list public for an extra 24 hours.
The Buckeyes do not reveal the results of their daily COVID-19 testing and will not comment on which players, coaches or staff members have tested positive. The availability report will lend some clues as to which players may have tested positive, however.
“We are very confident that we are heading to East Lansing with a team that can safely compete and whose health, safety and well-being has been our utmost concern,” Ohio State team doctor Dr. Jim Borchers said in a statement. “We’ve tested, monitored and evaluated our results daily and have advised the student-athletes, coaches and performance staff accordingly.”
Ohio State is scheduled to depart for Michigan State this evening.
