Ohio State-Michigan Game Is Canceled
The Game will not be happening this year.
The University of Michigan announced Tuesday that Saturday’s game against Ohio State is canceled due to “an increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases and student-athletes in quarantine over the past week.”
“The number of positive tests has continued to trend in an upward direction over the last seven days,” Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said in the release. “Unfortunately, we will not be able to field a team due to COVID-19 positives and the associated quarantining required of close contact individuals.”
Michigan did not play Saturday against Minnesota and had not had a full practice since the cancellation.
Under the current rules, Ohio State now only has five regular season games and will not be eligible for the Big Ten Championship despite leading the Big Ten East with a 5-0 record.
