Ohio State Men’s Basketball Jumps To No. 20, Women’s Basketball Climbs To No. 17 In Latest AP Polls

Both Ohio State basketball teams remained unbeaten and moved up in the latest AP polls. 

The 5-0 men’s basketball team improved to No. 20 after a 90-85 victory at Notre Dame and a 67-61 win against Cleveland State at home.

After demolishing Miami (Ohio), 104-65, the 4-0 women’s basketball team moved up to No. 17.

The top five in the men’s poll stayed the same as last week, with No. 1 Gonzaga, No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Iowa and No. 4 Michigan State all remaining undefeated, and No. 5 Kansas rounding out the group at 6-1.

Besides the third-ranked Hawkeyes and fourth-ranked Spartans, the Big Ten boasts five other teams in the AP Poll. Wisconsin is at No. 12, ahead of Illinois, who is No. 13. Rutgers is just ahead of the No. 20 Buckeyes at No. 19, and Michigan moved into the conversation at No. 25. Outside of the top 25, Indiana is ranked No. 32 and Minnesota is No. 42. 

In the women’s poll, the Big Ten features five teams in No. 14 Maryland, No. 15 Indiana, No. 16 Northwestern, the No. 17 Buckeyes, and No. 19 Michigan. Michigan State is outside the top 25 at No. 27, and Iowa is ranked No. 39 with Rutgers at No. 40.
