“I want to thank my coaching staff, professors, university and most importantly my teammates for being supportive and riding with me throughout this year,” Bell wrote in a tweet. “I appreciate you all for respecting my decision and supporting it.”
Bell finished her lone season with the Buckeyes with 10.9 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game, No. 2 and No. 3 on the team. She led the team with 56 made three pointers and shot 39.4 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from deep.
After starting the season as a part of the starting lineup, Bell eventually found her role as a spark plug off the bench, averaging 21.0 minutes per game for the year.
Bell was suspended, along with Janai Crooms and Kaelynn Satterfield, for a game against Sacramento State due to a violation of team rules, and Bell missed back-to-back games against Rutgers and Northwestern for personal reasons.
Satterfield, another member of the 2019 recruiting class for the Buckeyes, elected to transfer to Xavier earlier this season.
Bell committed to Ohio State as a five star out of Canton McKinley ranked as the No. 2 guard and No. 8 overall prospect in the 2019 class. She was a three-time Ms. Ohio Basketball winner, the only player in the state to win player of the year three times besides LeBron James.
She earned the nickname “She-Bron” for her play in high school that was reminiscent of James.
