Ohio State Football 2023 Schedule Announced

Although Ohio State still has five weeks remaining in the 2022 regular season, the Buckeyes found out the outlook for their next campaign on Wednesday.

Ohio State’s 2023 schedule was revealed on Wednesday and it boasts several differences from the makeup of its 2022 slate of games. For starters, the Buckeyes won’t open the season with five-consecutive home games, in fact, OSU will start its campaign on the road against Indiana on Sept. 2. Ohio State’s off week will follow the conclusion of its nonconference slate, which includes home games against Youngstown State (Sept. 9) and Western Kentucky (Sept. 16) along with a road bout at Notre Dame, on Sept. 30.

The Buckeyes kick off Big Ten play in earnest with a home battle against Maryland on Oct. 7, before seeking to avenge their last trip to West Lafayette, Ind., which ended in a 49-20 loss to Purdue in 2018, when they travel to take on the Boilermakers on Oct. 14. Ohio State then concludes the month of October with a pair of marquee matchups, hosting Penn State on Oct. 21 before heading to Madison, Wisc., to face the Badgers on Oct. 28.

Ohio State starts November with a second-consecutive road game, taking on the Scarlet Knights in Piscataway, N.J., on Nov. 4. The Buckeyes then get a brief two-game homestand, hosting Michigan State on Nov. 11 and Minnesota on Nov. 18. Ohio State ends the season on the road, squaring off against rival Michigan at the Big House on Nov. 25, a game that some speculated would be in Columbus since the Buckeyes lost a home game since The Game was canceled in 2020 due to COVID protocols. The season concludes with the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 2.
