Ohio State Finishes 10th In Final AP Top 25 Poll Of 2023 Season
Ohio State checked in at No. 10 in the final AP Top 25 poll of the season released Tuesday following Michigan’s 34-13 win over Washington in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
The Buckeyes’ ranking – their lowest since finishing at No. 12 in the final poll of the 2013 season – came after a 14-3 loss to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl, and the third time in as many seasons that the Buckeyes finished with an 11-2 record. This was also the second consecutive season – and the first since 1999-00 – that Ohio State closed with back-to-back losses.
The top five of the poll is made up of No. 1 Michigan – which received all 61 first-place votes – followed by No. 2 Washington, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Georgia and No. 5 Alabama. Florida State and Oregon finished tied for sixth, followed by No. 8 Missouri, No. 9 Ole Miss and the Buckeyes rounding out the top 10.
Ohio State also finished No. 10 in the Coaches Poll, with the rest of the top 10 made up of No. 1 Michigan, No. 2 Washington, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Texas, No. 5 Alabama, No. 6 Florida State, No. 7 Oregon, No. 8 Missouri and No. 9 Ole Miss.
