Ohio State Draft Pick Jordan Named Starter, Haskins on Bench

With the NFL regular season less than two weeks away, some of Ohio State’s nine 2019 draft picks are finding their places in the depth chart.

Offensive lineman Michael Jordan has been announced as the starter for the Cincinnati Bengals at left guard by head coach Zac Taylor in his first year with the team.

With the announcement of the offensive line, center Billy Price, a former Buckeye who was drafted in the first round by the Bengals in 2018, has been replaced by Trey Hopkins, and will not start the season against the Seattle Seahawks.

Jordan, who was selected in the fourth round, pick No. 136 by Cincinnati, was named a first-team All-American by both CBS Sports and SI.com in 2018 while playing at the center position.

On the other side of the NFL, a different Ohio State draft pick didn’t have the same luck, as Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins was beat out by Case Keenum as the week one starter.

Keenum has been the starter for each of his teams the past two seasons — the Minnesota Vikings and the Denver Broncos. For the Broncos in 2018, Keenum finished with 3,890 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

Haskins was the No. 15 pick in the NFL Draft, and has completed 22-of-41 passes for 305 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions throughout the preseason thus far.
