Ohio State Defensive Tackle Haskell Garrett Announces Return For 2021 Season

Ohio State defensive tackle Haskell Garrett announced on Twitter Tuesday that he will be using the extra year of eligibility allowed by the NCAA to return to Ohio State for the 2021 season.

Garrett returns to the Buckeyes after being named a first-team All-American by CBS Sports and Pro Football Focus. He finished his senior year with 20 tackles (12 solo), four tackles for loss and two sacks. He also had a pass breakup and an interception against Michigan State which he caught in the end zone for a touchdown.

The senior defensive tackle was shot in the face in late August after, as Garrett told police, trying to stop an altercation. He did not miss a game in the 2020 season and recorded a sack in the opener against Nebraska less than two months after the incident.
