Ohio State C Jordan To Get Tree In Buckeye Grove

Michael Jordan is an All-American.

Ohio State’s junior center, in his third year as a starter but first since sliding over from left guard, was named a first-team All-American by Sports Illustrated on Wednesday. That means he’ll get a tree in Buckeye Grove, Ohio State confirmed Thursday morning.

Jordan, a Canton (Mich.) Plymouth product, took over as Ohio State’s starting left guard as a true freshman in 2016. He kept that spot last season and was moved to center this fall to replace Billy Price, who was an All-American last year.

He was one of three Big Ten offensive players to earn the honor from SI, joining Wisconsin sophomore running back Jonathan Taylor, who has rushed for 1,989 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, and Wisconsin guard Beau Benzschawel.
