A two-time All-Big Ten honoree, Jones helped the Buckeyes win the inaugural College Football Playoff national championship in 2014, the 2015 Sugar Bowl, the 2016 Fiesta Bowl, the 2017 Cotton Bowl and two Big Ten Conference championships (2014, 2017). The Chicago native was a part of an offensive line that helped the Buckeyes lead the Big Ten in rushing in both 2016 (245.2 yards per game) and 2017 (243.2 ypg).
