Jacy Sheldon Named Co-B1G Player Of The Week

Ohio State junior guard Jacy Sheldon has been named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week following back-to-back 30-point games.

She scored a career-high 33 points on 12-of-15 shooting in an 89-83 win over Michigan State on Jan. 12, issuing six assists and pulling down six rebounds. Just days later, she dropped 32 points on 10-of-17 shooting in an 83-75 win over Minnesota. She had a career-high seven assists to go with five rebounds in the win.

This season, Sheldon is averaging career highs in points (20.4), field goal percentage (55.1), assists (3.4) and steals (2.0).

Sheldon is Ohio State’s first Big Ten Player of the Week since Dorka Juhasz captured those honors on Dec. 23, 2019. This was Sheldon’s first Big Ten Player of the Week honor.

Sheldon was named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week along with Iowa sophomore guard Caitlin Clark, who averaged 27.5 points, 9.5 assists and 9.0 rebounds in two games.
