Highlights: Ohio State Blasts Nebraska In Lincoln

Despite the hype and excitement, and even the presence of ESPN’s College Gameday, Ohio State’s Saturday night matchup with Nebraska was, as some expected, never close. The Buckeyes rolled early, and kept it going all night long on the way to a statement win over the Cornhuskers, 48-7. Buckeye Sports Bulletin has you covered with all the highlights you need from the Buckeye win.

Ohio State couldn’t have started any better than it did, with a Jeff Okudah interception just a few plays into the game, and Justin Fields touchdown run on the drive immediately after the pick.

The Buckeye defense had no plans to slow down, either. The next drive saw Baron Browning sack Adrian Martinez to force a fourth down.

Off of that, the Buckeyes found the end zone again, this time on a pass to K.J. Hill.

After a bizarre Nebraska drive that saw the Huskers moving down the field out of a wishbone set look, Okudah managed to snag another pick, this time from his back.

A field goal later, and Jordan Fuller decided to get in on the fun with his own interception, setting up Master Teague for a touchdown run.

Neither the defense, nor Teague were done making plays, as Malik Harrison picked up a sack on the next possession, and Teague did it all by himself on the following drive.

The Buckeyes capped the first half with yet another touchdown, this time to Austin Mack in the back corner of the end zone, to take a 38-0 lead into the locker room.

While it wasn’t a touchdown, a sack, or even a tackle for loss, the biggest play was probably Pete Werner’s massive hit early in the second half.

Ohio State’s final touchdown came on a beautiful ball from Fields to Garrett Wilson, but the final big play was via the full backup defense, which managed to completely shut down Nebraska on fourth and goal.

Ohio State takes the field next on Oct. 5, at home against Michigan State. The Buckeyes and Spartans will kick off in primetime, for the second of Ohio State’s three game primetime stretch.
