Four-Star Quarterback Lincoln Kienholz Flips From Washington To Ohio State

Ohio State has gained a quarterback commitment in 2023 as Pierre (S.D.) T.F. Riggs four-star signal caller Lincoln Kienholz (6-3, 185) flipped from Washington to the Buckeyes on Wednesday.

Kienholz is the No. 211 overall prospect and No. 14 quarterback in the class, and he had been committed to the Huskies since June before flipping to Ohio State.

He was named MaxPreps South Dakota High School Player of the Year this past season, throwing for 3,422 yards and 46 touchdowns to just six interceptions, while adding 1,436 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground. He also appeared on defense for T.F. Riggs, accruing 12 tackles and four interceptions.

The Buckeyes only recently got involved with Kienholz, hosting him for an official visit for Ohio State’s loss to Michigan and offering him days later. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis then initiated a full-court press on Kienholz, making several visits to South Dakota over the past week to help secure the commitment.

The need for a quarterback in the class arose after Memphis (Tenn.) Lausanne Collegiate School three-star quarterback Brock Glenn (6-2, 195) decommitted from Ohio State in November.
