Former Duke Safety Terry Moore Commits To Ohio State

Ohio State has added another veteran safety from the transfer portal, with former Duke defensive back Terry Moore committing to the Buckeyes on Monday.
He joins the ranks one day after former Florida State safety Earl Little Jr. pledged to OSU.
Moore played with the Blue Devils for three seasons, starting as a running back in 2022 before moving to the defensive backfield in the 2023 season. That year, he had 43 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Then, as a junior, Moore totaled 71 tackles, seven tackles for loss and one sack, adding four interceptions and two forced fumbles on the way to a second-team All-ACC selection.
However, in the Gator Bowl on Jan. 2, 2025, Moore tore his ACL and was forced to sit out the entirety of the 2025 season after getting surgery over the offseason. Now he hopes to get back to form in Columbus where he will compete to fill the hole that Caleb Downs leaving for the NFL draft leaves.
Moore is the seventh addition the Buckeyes have made this offseason in the transfer portal. He joins Little, linebacker Christian Alliegro (Wisconsin), wide receiver Devin McCuin (UTSA), defensive tackle John Walker (UCF), long snapper Dalton Riggs (UCF) and tight end Mason Williams (Ohio).
Each of the additions that Ohio State has made to this point seem to indicate a trend that the Buckeyes are going in with the portal, all of them having experience playing consistently at the college level. Williams and Walker are the only two who have more than one year of eligibility remaining, both of them bringing two to Columbus.
Ohio State has lost 28 scholarship players to the transfer portal since it opened on Jan. 2.
