Florida Running Back Transfer Ja’Kobi Jackson Transfers To Ohio State

Ohio State is adding seventh-year running back Ja’Kobi Jackson from Florida in the transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
A product of Pensacola (Fla.) Catholic, Jackson was unranked out of high school and instead chose to attend Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Miss. In three seasons with the Tigers, Jackson rushed for 1,390 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Prior to committing to Florida, Jackson was ranked as the No. 134 overall prospect and the No. 7 running back, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings.
After redshirting his first season with the Gators in 2023, Jackson took 95 carries for 509 yards and seven touchdowns as the backup running back in 2024. However, he struggled with injuries throughout 2025 and played in just four games, totaling 27 carries for 98 yards.
The arrival of Jackson is expected to fill the void left by senior C.J. Donaldson, who has exhausted his eligibility, as well as James Peoples and Sam Dixon, both of whom entered the transfer portal. Freshmen Bo Jackson and Isaiah West are likely the top returning candidates for playing time, while redshirt freshman Anthony “Turbo” Rodgers is also on the roster.
