Heart Disease Revealed As Cause Of Death For Former Ohio State Offensive Lineman Ben Christman

The cause of death for former Ohio State offensive lineman Ben Christman has been revealed to be heart disease, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
It was revealed that it was cardiomyopathy and cardiac arrhythmia, an irregular heartbeat, caused Christman’s death on Feb. 11.
Christman was preparing to play his final season of college football at UNLV after spending two seasons in Columbus and two at Kentucky before he was found dead in his Las Vegas apartment. According to The Courier Journal, Christman reported chest pains during practice the day before his death, but there was no evidence of heart issues on the EKG he underwent.
“Our team’s heart is broken to hear of Ben’s passing,” UNLV head coach Dan Mullen said after Christman’s death. “Since the day Ben set foot on our campus a month ago, he made the Rebels a better program. Ben was an easy choice for our leadership committee as he had earned the immediate respect, admiration and friendship of all his teammates. Our prayers go out to his family and all who knew him. Ben made the world a better place and he will be missed.”
