The Ohio State men’s basketball program picked up its first commitment of the 2021 class in Convoy (Ohio) Crestview four-star forward Kalen Etzler, who is the nephew of former Ohio State point guard Doug Etzler (1991-95).
Crestview named Doug Etzler its new head boys basketball coach May 8, so the former Buckeye will coach the future Buckeye (his nephew) for the next two seasons before Kalen Etzler comes to Columbus.
For this installment of BSB Reprints, we look back at Doug Etzler’s time at Ohio State, where he was a team captain as a senior in 1994-95 and averaged 16.3 points and 3.9 assists per game.
