Big Ten Unveils 2020 Football Schedule, Ohio State-Michigan Game Set For Dec. 12

The Big Ten announced its 2020 football schedule on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff, and Ohio State is now set to open its season against Nebraska at home on Oct. 24.

After that game, the Buckeyes will be traveling to Happy Valley and face Penn State on Oct. 31.

The Michigan game, which has been the final game of the regular season for both teams since 1935, will continue that streak, as the Buckeyes will host the Wolverines on Dec. 12.

The rest of the schedule goes as followed: home against Rutgers on Nov. 7, at Maryland on Nov. 14, home against Indiana on Nov. 21, at Illinois on Nov. 28 and at Michigan State on Dec. 5.

While these were the dates announced, Ohio State said in a release that “Special date games, such as Friday games, will be determined and announced at a later date.”

The Buckeyes will also have a ninth game on the schedule: A to-be-determined game that will take place on Big Ten Championship Week on the weekend of Dec. 19, one day before the selection of the College Football Playoff. That game will have the top seeds of each division play against each other, as well as each division’s No. 2 seeds, No. 3 seeds, etc. all the way down to both No. 7 seeds facing off.

Ohio State was initially scheduled to open the 2020 season with a home game against Bowling Green on Sept. 5, which was then changed to a Sept. 3 road matchup with Illinois when the Big Ten created a 10-game conference-only slate. That was ultimately canceled when the Big Ten initially decided to postpone the football season back on Aug. 11.
