Angelo Smith, Brother Of Ohio State Wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith, Commits To Ohio State

Ohio State added to its 2027 recruiting class on Sunday with a commitment from three-star safety Angelo Smith.

Smith is the younger brother of star Ohio State sophomore wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Angelo Smith is ranked the No. 400 player in the country, the No. 38 safety and the No. 46 player in the state of Florida out of Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood.

Smith has offers from just three schools, with Miami (Fla.) and Toledo being the other two. But other schools were in on Smith as well. The Buckeyes beat out Georgia State and Oklahoma State for Smith’s services.

He originally received an offer from Ohio State on June 17 after a one-day recruiting camp in Columbus, and didn’t take long to decide that he wants to play where his brother currently is, although the two won’t likely overlap in the program.

Smith visited for the 14-7 season opening win over Texas, his most recent time on campus.

He joins five-star wide receiver Jamier Brown and four-star quarterback Brady Edmunds as the only three commits in Ohio State’s 2027 class so far.
