Duncanville, Texas five-star defensive end Omari Abor included Ohio State in his top 10 schools, along with Alabama, Arizona State, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and USC.

Abor is the second-best strongside defensive end and No. 23 overall prospect in the 2022 class. The Buckeyes offered the 6-4, 240-pound defensive end back on Nov. 3, 2020.

He was compared to Denver Broncos end Bradley Chubb by 247Sports’ Gabe Brooks.

“Good height and looks long but frame has not yet been verified. Owns college-ready size as an edge rusher and appears to possess frame potential to bulk into typical strong-side type with scheme versatility,” Brooks wrote on Abor. “Makes a ton of plays but can get better in tackling technique consistency as well. Perhaps a bit of positional ambiguity from a projection standpoint, but does not need to be overthought in that regard. Will likely fit multiple roles in varying schemes.

“Bottom line: through junior year, looks like one of the nation’s top defensive prospects in the 2022 class.”

Ohio State does not yet have a commitment on the defensive line for the 2022 class after having three in the 2021 cycle in four-star defensive tackle Mike Hall, five-star defensive end Jack Sawyer and four-star defensive tackle Tyleik Williams.

Abor currently has three crystal ball predictions in favor of the Sooners, but they were all done with low confidence numbers (5, 4 and 2 out of 10).
