2020 Big Ten Football Media Days Will Not Be Held As Scheduled

The Big Ten Conference announced on Friday afternoon the 2020 Football Media Days and Kickoff Luncheon will not be held as scheduled in order to “ensure the health, safety and wellness of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, fans, partners and media” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The annual event was scheduled for July 22-23 in downtown Chicago, a short drive from the conference’s headquarters in Rosemont, Ill.

The Big Ten has not yet announced if it will move media days to a virtual format, which would follow the lead of other Football Bowl Subdivision conferences including the American Athletic Conference, Big XII, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West and Sun Belt. The conference instead noted it will “continue to consult with medical experts to determine the appropriate dates and format for our annual event.”
